Duchy of Ravenholt

About the Duchy of Ravenholt: Once known as the Northern Marches, the Duchy of Ravenholt lies to the East of the Duchy of Volta, to the North of the Duchies of Rotaria and Ashbury, and to the South and West of the Kingdom of Draelonde. The Duchy was created in 570 by King Roderick to unite the lands of the Northern Marches. It was granted to Basil Ravenhurst, and named Ravenholt after its Duke. Originally, the Duchy included the Baronies of Capulus, Westmarch, Eastwyck and the lands of Draelonde, then known as the Barony of Elfheim. After its creation in 573, the Barony of Cumberland joined the Duchy as well. In 591, the Barony of Elfheim was released from their treaties and the sovereignty of Draelonde was acknowledged, leaving the Duchy in the status it holds today, comprised of the four Baronies Capulus, Cumberland, Eastwyck and Westmarch. The Duchy is currently ruled by Duke Johnas Stemple, a Quentari Elf, previously the Viscount of Magicks to Duke Maximillian Greystone. Former Duke Roderick Ravenhurst has been assigned to formal studies as are necessary of a Prince of the Realm, per His Highness Prince Kevynn Blackfox's orders. |
